"Name Above All Names"
Written by

Jesus! What a beautiful name! Just hearing it spoken softly puts joy and peace into my heart as well as the never ending hope of eternity with Him in heaven. There’s something about that name and we who believe know what it is. Our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus, gave His life in a horrible, agonizing death on the cross to save us from our sins!
We think of Him, our God, being born as a human baby, living a sinless life here on earth, then sacrificing Himself for our sins and those of the whole world! We read of His life here on earth and see what a gentle and compassionate soul He was, showing us the right way to live.
Sweet, sweet Jesus! The name above all names!
“Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place
and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.”
to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:9-11.
Jesus, our Savior. He is our only Redeemer, our only salvation. We sinners certainly can’t earn our own way to heaven or even help it along. Our salvation is a gift from God, purchased with the blood of our perfect Lord Jesus. It is beyond surprising and alarming how many Christians think they need to work
their way to heaven even though Christ has already paid the price.
“Salvation is found in no one else,
for there is no other name under heaven
given to men by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12
The correct answer is so simple. Because we believe in Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection for the sins of the world.
“For it is by grace you have been saved,
through faith and this not from yourselves,
it is the gift of God — not by works,
so that no one can boast.”
Ephesians 2:8.
Jesus reconciled us to the Father through His ultimate sacrifice. We, as Christians, do good works and live our faith, not in order to be saved, but because we have been saved.
Father, may we always remember the glory is Yours and not a shred of it is due to us. Our belief in Jesus and His incomparable sacrifice is the answer, not a thing of ourselves. We believe in Your word and Your promises where it is explicitly stated. We thank You so much for Your great love and mercy. In Jesus’ name, the name above all names. Amen!
