Sharing a Love Song
In April we celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary. I look back and am amazed that it has been so long since our wedding. Like any marriage there were good times and hard times. Children came and then grew up and started their lives. I feel blessed with my family.
I love the story I heard today.
It was about a man named Fred Stobaugh who had been married to his Lorraine for 73 years. She passed away just recently. Fred heard about a songwriters contest that was held by a recording studio. He sat down and penned a song to Lorraine. Fred did not win because the contest was for people to send in a video of their song. However, Jason of the recording studio decided to do a profession recording of Fred's song.
The story about this and their love is told on this You Tube video. It is so sweet. I loved one of the lines of this song. His sentiment stated that he was willing / wished that they could do it all over again. I think that all love stories should end with this sentiment. Poignant and lovely.
The story does not chronicle the role of God in the lives of Fred and Lorraine. I am sure He was a part of the entire time they were married...there is no way such love and harmony could be such without God in their lives. Just my guess, but I am sticking to it.

PEORIA, Ill. — A 96-year-old man’s song is now number ten on iTunes, right up there with music stars Katy Perry and Pink. Fred Stobaugh lives in Peoria, Illinois and recently lost his wife of 73 years. To help him deal with his pain, he wrote a song and entered a local songwriting contest.
He didn’t win the contest, but the studio found his story touching and made a short documentary about Fred and Lorraine’s love story. The video has now been viewed more than one and a half million times on YouTube.
